Photo of LondonThis program will include two courses and visits to three major cities (Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Beijing) in China, with the longest stay in Hangzhou. "Above is heaven, below is Hangzhou" goes a famous Chinese saying describing the glamorous city of Hangzhou.

With its amazing scenery and fascinating cultural attractions, it is indeed heaven on earth. Hangzhou is the capital and the political, economic, and cultural, and communications center of Zhejiang Province.

The enchanting West Lake, a time-honored culture, the Grand Canal, and the colorful folk customs make Hangzhou a unique city for this program.

Historically, the City served as the national capital of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1276 A.D.) and was the famed "Zanadu" in the accounts of Marco Polo's Travels. With respect to weather, the month of May is one of the best in Hangzhou with temperatures in the 15-25 °C range.
